The Original Farmhouse in the Costwolds, near Bath. Our firstborn, we've lovingly restored this countryside hideaway from top to bottom. Today, staying at Widbrook Grange in Bradford on Avon feels more like bedding down at an old friend's country pile than staying in a hotel.

The Farmhouse and its estate are home to 19 boutique bedrooms, the Kitchen Restaurant, 11 acres of grounds filled with quirky sculptures and curiosities, indoor swimming pool, fitness suite and - its crowning glory - the Gin Bar with its heady collection of over 160 gins. The Farmhouse plays host to intimate weddings, decadent parties and unique business events, for up to 60 guests.

Stay at Widbrook Grange to bed down for a deep restorative slumber after a day roaming the wolds or bumbling around Bath. Awake, well-rested, to a Farmhouse Breakfast. Each of the 19 boutique bedrooms on the estate are decked out in restful palettes, influenced by the Cotswolds' countryside. Bedrooms in the main Farmhouse have their own personality - The Artist's Room, The Writer's Room and The Seamstress' Room - with roll-top tubs and a collection of curiosities, handpicked from around the globe.

Roadtripping with 'Rover'? Many of the bedrooms in the stableblocks and Piggery are dog-friendly, with direct access to the estate.

Bradford on Avon is a pretty little town on the River Avon - think winding streets, cute little hideaways and independent boutiques, and you wouldn't be far wrong. Discover its history, sample foodie delights at the weekly market, and borrow bikes to peddle the path alongside the canal.
